Positron Emission Tomography

Positron Emission Tomography (PET) division provides equipment, facilities, and operations support for clinical and research studies using Positron Emission Tomographic imaging.

All PET facilities are located on the first floor of the McDermott Clinical Science Building.

The PET Division consists of three sections: Human PET, Animal PET and Radiochemistry.

Human PET Imaging

The Human PET Section occupies one, three-room suite with two scanner bays, an operator control room and an equipment room. Each scanner bay houses a large-bore PET scanner.

Animal PET

The Animal PET Section occupies two, one-room suites. Each suite includes animal preparation space, dose-calibration equipment and a small-bore microPET system.

Radiochemistry

The Radiochemistry Section supports two cyclotrons and accompanying radiochemistry production and quality control facilities.
