Connect Debugger

Postby kurdsandwhey » Fri Mar 15, 2019 3:02 am

Hi

I am writing a plugin for Mango - is there some way in which I can pass java commands to the JVM at startup like:

-Xdebug -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,...

Or can I create an entry point for the application using the mango.jar and a class path...

Java -jar mango.jar -cp ...

I found the following works:

In eclipse write an ant script with a debug target:

<target name="debug" depends="all">
<echo>===JVM waiting for debugger to attach===</echo>
<echo>= Start Remote Debug for project now =</echo>
<echo>========================================</echo>
<exec executable="${mango.dir}/jre7/bin/java">
<arg value="-Xdebug"/>
<arg value="-Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,address=8000,server=y,suspend=y"/>
<arg line="-jar ${mango.dir}/Mango.jar"/>
</exec>
<echo>Stopping Mango...</echo>
</target>

Then run the target in eclipse directly from the ant file.

Now start debugging your project...
