To be eligible for a travel award for OHBM 2007, trainees must be:
- First author on an abstract accepted for presentation at HBM 2007 (see OHBM for details on abstract submission)
- Registered for HBM 2007 (see OHBM for details on registration)
- Presently enrolled in a full time "in training" program (see definition below) in the field of human brain mapping
- Presently a dues paying member of OHBM (see OHBM for details on becoming a member)
Three categories of "in training" status will be recognized:
- A full-time student in a graduate program (M.S., Ph.D. or M.D. degree) relating to the field of human brain mapping
- A full-time participant in a medical residency program in a field relating to human brain mapping (psychiatry, neurology, neurosurgery, radiology)
- A full-time post-doctoral fellow within two years of receiving the doctoral degree (Ph.D.) or within two years of completing residency training (M.D.)
Selection for stipends will be based both upon meeting the above criteria and upon the quality of the abstract.
The stipend amount is anticipated to be $750 USD per awardee, with up to 118 awards being made. Stipends will be provided as reimbursements paid after the meeting, not before. Payment will be made only after meeting attendance and abstract submission by the applicant are confirmed. Persons selected for stipends will be posted on the awardees page in advance of the meeting, as soon as the selection process is complete.

You must meet all the criteria as stated above.
Please remember that you must also fax (210-567-8152) a letter on institutional letterhead signed by your training supervisor and your department chair confirming that you meet one of the categories for "in-training" status listed above.
ALL AWARDEES MUST REGISTER WITH THE TRAVEL AWARD DESK IN CHICAGO BY 12:00 NOON ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13TH TO CLAIM THEIR AWARD. FAILURE TO MEET THIS DEADLINE WILL CANCEL YOUR AWARD.
The application deadline for Travel Awards is April 1, 2007.
Travel Award applications will be reviewed after April 1, and the names of those receiving Travel Awards will be posted on this webpage by April 20. You will not receive further correspondence regarding your application unless there are questions about the information you have submitted.
Please check the website after April 20th to see if you have been selected to receive a Travel Award and for information on obtaining the funds awarded. It will be up to the applicant to refer to the website to confirm whether or not they have been selected to receive an award. Those not selected to receive Travel Awards will not be notified separately.
